Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation

Dave Picton, owner of Sacramento pest control company, Earth Guard Pest Services, has been named Vice Chair of the Albie Aware Foundation Board of Directors for 2011. The non-profit organization raises money to pay for breast cancer screening for women who are uninsured or don’t have financial means to pay for screening as well as breast cancer education and outreach programs.

“As a result of the tough economy over the past couple of years, both government funding and private fund-raising have suffered,” Picton said. “Today it’s more important than ever that the Albie Aware Foundation is here to help support critically important prevention and awareness programs that otherwise might not survive. We have a talented and enthusiastic board of directors, and everyone is excited to look ahead to how we can make a difference in 2011.”

Albie Aware board members are meeting today in a day-long retreat to plan events and operations for 2011. The nine-person board recently installed three new members–Karen Penfold, Chris Braun and Tricia Meister.
